My name is Ryan Stonich. I will be graduating from Palo Alto Senior High School in June of 2025. Some of my favorite hobbies include building things (including complex custom LEGO designs), playing with my dog, and CAD & 3-D printing designs.
This website is a display of the work I’ve done abroad, my experience with design and engineering, and a general overview of me as a person.
As early as I can remember, I’ve had a love for building custom designs with LEGOs. They’ve allowed me to better understand how mechanical things work, and they’ve provided me with a way to express my creativity. Over time, this love for building things has been strengthened through my experience with 3-D printing, and designing and building larger projects like my motorized La-Z-Boy recliner and my EBike.
Another important piece of my identity is my Filipino heritage. I recall most weekends while growing up, visiting my Filipino family in Sacramento. This strong connection with my Filipino background made me deeply value compassion and giving to others. It additionally emphasized family values, something instilled in me by my late grandfather.
Together, these factors are what have inspired me to apply myself in all my areas of interest. Whether it be robotics, solar cars, aid in Ghana, or operating my non-profit in support of teaching and building infrastructure in the Philippines, I’ve used my skills in mechanical design, building, teaching and learning to improve the lives of others.
